At our school, we focus heavily on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities. We complete 1-2 STEM projects every week. The STEM Club was built to help expand STEM education to those outside of the learners at Acton Academy.

What has become clear in the past 6 weeks since we started the STEM club is that that there is a lot of interest in STEM education. Project-based learning and STEM education should be a key part of our education system and, yet, there isn’t nearly enough.

STEM learning and team projects give young learners the opportunity to develop the critical soft and transferable skills that are so important for the 21st century.

Over the past few weeks, I have had many parents, including many homeschooling parents, request a time change. Sunday mornings are a challenge for many families for many reasons.

Based on the feedback, I have decided to move the STEM club to 1p on Sunday. We’ll start with the new hours on February 27th.
