Why does Acton use homeschooling?

Acton is in a unique space. We are not a public school and have chosen not to register as a charter school. Being independent gives us the freedom to follow our own learner-driven approach to learning.

The State of Ohio doesn't have a special category for us — that is why everyone registers as a homeschooler. This also gives your Eagle the benefit of participating in after-school programs in their own district.

⚠️ Annual requirement

If your Eagle is age 6 or above at the start of the school year (in your local district), you must notify your local superintendent that you will be homeschooling. This must be done annually.
