Electrical engineering: Children build robots that move and respond to the environment using motors and sensors

Try our one-day workshop

Let's build robots and play soccer! This workshop will introduce young builders to the world of robotics in a fun and engaging way. Participants will each build a robot that utilizes wireless remote controls, gear ratios and some creativity that will finish with a game of soccer amongst other participants! No experience necessary!

Cost: $30

Date: Wednesday, April 13th (4:30p - 6:00p)

Location: 6543 Commerce Parkway Ste E, Dublin, OH

Design and Build Robots

Working with robots is a really exciting way to learn new and challenging skills. During our after school Robotics program, the young learners will use problem solving and critical thinking skills while learning coding and mechanical / electrical engineering.

RoboThink’s exclusive robotics kit makes learning STEAM fun!

Work on 21st Century Skills

Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking are vital transferable skills needed for the 21st century. These are the critical skills that can be transferred from project to project, company to company, business to business.

Robotics and STEM projects give learners the opportunity to work on and develop these skills.

Deep, Joyful Learning

Deep learning does not come from memorizing a textbook but rather from learning to do, learning to be, and learning to learn. Joyful learning comes from doing meaningful real world applications and having agency in your own learning. It comes from being able to experiment, fail, and continue trying.

Through our Robotics Program, young learners find joy in their learning!

Our Robotics Club is a collaboration with RoboThink, a leading STEM, coding, robotics and engineering program nurturing with locations across 11 countries.

Robotics Instructor: Andy Moore

Andy has been in education for nearly 30 years working with learners and educators in organizations including COSI, Canal Winchester Schools and currently at New Albany - Plain Local Schools.

Andrew won the Battelle Award for Innovations in Elementary Science for his work on inquiry based science in 1997. He was the 2005 Ohio Technology Teacher of the Year. Since that time, he has worked as an adjunct professor at Otterbein University and Ashland University. He has presented numerous times around the country on how technology can be used in the classroom and for new learning opportunities.
